About Nadumu Maasai Women's Organization

Nadumu Maasai Women’s Organization

Founded in 2021 by Simon Emanuel, Nadumu Maasai Women’s Organization is dedicated to uplifting Maasai women by providing access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and gender equality. Inspired by Simon’s childhood experiences witnessing the struggles of women in his community, including his mother, our mission is to break barriers and create a future of dignity, independence, and leadership for women and girls.

Why Support Maasai Women?

Maasai women carry immense responsibility in their communities, yet cultural traditions often limit their access to essential resources such as education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Many women attempt to start small businesses but lack the support and training needed to succeed. Through Nadumu, we empower them to build sustainable livelihoods, access health services, and provide for their families—ultimately working to eradicate poverty and promote gender equality.

Our Focus Areas

Education & Leadership – Equipping women with the skills to become changemakers and entrepreneursEnvironmental Sustainability – Helping women achieve economic independence through tree planting and climate-conscious initiatives.  Economic Empowerment – Supporting traditional Maasai craftsmanship, small businesses, and financial literacy.

ACHIEVEMENT OF THE NMW ORG

Empowering women, educating children, and promoting environmental conservation are at the heart of our efforts. Over the years, we have achieved meaningful impact through various initiatives:

  • Economic Empowerment: We have supported 42 women in generating sustainable income through traditional Maasai jewelry-making, helping them earn $500 within two weeks, fostering financial independence and economic security.

  • Environmental Conservation: Since 2021, we have planted 3,000 trees to restore local biodiversity, improve the environment, and provide shade and fruit for women and the wider community.

  • Sustainable Livelihoods: Our organization has provided 200 chickens to Maasai women, enabling them to breed, trade, and establish a reliable source of income.

  • Agricultural Development: By supplying 50 hoes, 20 rakes, 30 water cans, and 25 spades, we have empowered women to cultivate their land, diversify income sources, and ensure food security.

  • Access to Education: We have sponsored 10 vulnerable children, giving them the opportunity to attend school, gain confidence, and shape brighter futures.

  • Menstrual Health & Hygiene: We have provided 800 girls in four schools with reusable sanitary pads, ensuring they can attend school consistently and without discomfort.

  • Life Skills Training: Over 1,000 children have received life skills education, preparing them for future employment and instilling values of health, culture, and environmental stewardship.

  • Women’s Leadership: Three Maasai women, inspired by our work, have secured leadership positions in local government, strengthening female representation in community decision-making.

  • Education Support: We have produced school uniforms and backpacks for 30 children, ensuring they have the essentials to succeed in their studies.

Our work continues to uplift lives, promote self-sufficiency, and drive positive change. Join us in making a lasting impact on the Maasai community!
