A day trip to Tarangire National Park from Arusha is a perfect way to experience Tanzania’s wildlife. The drive takes about 2-3 hours each way, covering roughly 120 kilometers. You’ll leave in the morning, passing through beautiful countryside before arriving at the park. Once there, you’ll enjoy a full day of wildlife viewing, spotting elephants, lions, and many bird species. You’ll depart with lunch boxes, soft drinks, drinking water, and snacks to keep you refreshed throughout the day. After a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, you’ll start heading back in the late afternoon, reaching Arusha by early evening. A simple, real, and memorable adventure.

Tarangire National Park Full Day Trip

Your adventure starts with a morning pickup from your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport by a guide from Safari & Holiday Makers. You’ll then set off on a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, bringing packed lunch boxes for the journey. Upon arrival, you’ll begin mid-morning game drives, exploring the park’s incredible wildlife. A picnic lunch follows, allowing you to enjoy your meal in the heart of nature. The safari continues in the afternoon until around 4 PM when you’ll start heading back to Arusha. Once you arrive, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

Tarangire is a stunning landscape southeast of Lake Manyara, centered around the Tarangire River. The park boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania, with large herds of zebras, wildebeests, elephants, elands, kudus, gazelles, giraffes, waterbucks, and impalas. If you’re lucky, you may also spot leopards or rhinos. Tarangire is part of a vast ecosystem where animals roam freely, making it a remarkable place for wildlife viewing.
